Offshore Game Fishing
For anglers who prefer to throw large poppers at some mean Gts offshore, a typical trip would involve flying into Berau in the morning or afternoon (there are many local flights servicing this sector – and we can help in arranging flights into Berau) and making a 7 hour trip to Biduk-biduk in a 4 x 4. You'll then put up at a seaside chalet for the night and then board our 42 feet locally designed game boat powered by a brand new Yamaha 100hp four stroke outboard.
After a day's fishing, you'll put up at shore. Depending on the location and the arrangement.
Dates and fishing locations are arranged according to wind conditions, and typically starts in December up till March. The monsoons are a big factor in determining the suitability of trips, and sea and weather conditions can be unpredictable. But the sheltered nature of the coastline ensures some areas will always be fishable, unless extreme conditions prevail.
A major attraction for anglers to the area would be the migratory routes of yellow fin tunas. These large game fishes are known to seasonally pass the area and are much awaited every year. These runs typically occur in (Oct– Dis) and coincide with bill fish showing up in the area to feed on schools of bait fish on the surface
